Most businesses begin with humble resources and grow over time.

Starting a business with debt is usually not a good idea - unless it’s good debt, which we’ll discuss later.

Instead, save, plan, and start with the end in mind: how will you make money?

Use tools like the Business Model Canvas in the Zama app or online templates to map out your cost structure, revenue streams, and how to stay lean. Think deeply about spending wisely, testing what works, and learning what doesn’t. Start small, validate your idea, and build from there.

Begin with what you have: your own savings, apply grants, free trials, or pitch for support from family and friends. Then, as you prove traction, you can explore other funding options like investors or venture capital.

Don’t be intimidated. You’ve got this.
